Throwing Away Money

I choose which watch that I want to wear today
While I sip my morning scotch, preparing for may

Saying the April showers will bring may flowers
Has no power of taking the sour taste from my mouth this hour.

Louder and Louder I begin to think negative thoughts
Sought out to spot the things I wasn’t taught.
Fighting to do the right thing before I rot
But how can I fight, if I’ve never even fought.

I’ve only paid for these granted magical hands
Given all of the pursued and challenged lands.
I’ll just burn these hundreds in these rubber bands
Because they hold no meaning to me once I’m in the sand.
